Ariemedi (Chinese:艾瑞迈迪) has recently completed a new round of financing of hundreds of millions of CNY in a Series A+ round, jointly invested by High Rise Capital (Chinese:海睿投资) and Haier Capital (Chinese:海尔资本). This financing round is reported to be primarily used for scientific research collaboration, clinical trials, iterative product upgrades and market expansion.
Founded in 2016, Ariemedi is a national high-tech enterprise committed to R&D, manufacturing, and sales of intelligent medical devices for precise augmented reality navigation. In October 2021, the company's core product, the endoscopic skull base surgery navigation device, officially obtained the registration certificate from NMPA.
From the technical path perspective, surgical robots can be divided into master-slave control and navigation robots. The surgical navigation system is a medical device that integrates medicine, imaging, computer vision, spatial positioning and virtual reality interaction technologies to help physicians with preoperative treatment planning and intraoperative imaging navigation.
Clinical demand drives a broad market for surgical navigation systems in China. According to statistics, the Chinese surgical robot market is expected to reach CNY 71.3 billion by 2030. Moreover, there is no oligopoly in the surgical navigation arena, which means that Chinese enterprises have a significant competitive advantage.
In the past, the surgical navigation system in China could merely rely on imported navigation core components, making it difficult for companies to reduce costs. Fortunately, thanks to the efforts of Chinese manufacturers, the situation is turning around. The optical and electromagnetic tracking positioning device developed by Ariemedi has broken through technical barriers and achieved practical application.
The company's competitors include TINAVI (Chinese:天智航), Sinovation (Chinese:华科精准) and Deepwise (Chinese:深睿医疗).
